This policy explains how Polimati LLC (“Polimati”, “we”, “us”), a California limited liability company, handles information in connection with Halves for iPhone and the Halves pages on polimati.com. Polimati is the controller of the personal information described here. It describes Halves version 1.0.
Information stored on your device
Halves stores on your device the player names you enter, your appearance and sound settings, a record of the games you have played, and any game in progress. Version 1.0 does not send this information to Polimati. Removing the app removes it from your device. Backups of your device are handled by Apple under its own terms.
Information we receive
- From Apple. Apple gives developers sales and download reports. For people who have chosen to share analytics with app developers in their device settings, Apple also provides usage and crash reports. Apple provides these under its own privacy policy.
- Pre-release versions. If you test Halves through TestFlight, Apple sends us the feedback, screenshots and crash details you submit, together with the device information and tester contact details Apple attaches.
- When you contact us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- Our website. When you visit polimati.com, our hosting provider (Google) receives standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. The Halves pages load a typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser also requests it from Google.
Purchases
Purchases in Halves, including the free week and Family Sharing, are processed by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Apple tells the app whether a purchase is active. We do not receive your payment card details.
Photos
If you choose “Save the doodles” in Draw & Guess, the app asks for permission to add images to your photo library and saves them there. Version 1.0 does not request permission to read your photo library.
How we use information
We use the information we receive to operate, maintain and improve Halves, to respond to you and provide support, to diagnose problems, to protect against fraud and misuse, and to comply with the law and enforce our rights.
Where the laws of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom apply, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and improving Halves and in responding to you, on compliance with our legal obligations, and on your consent where the law requires it.
How we share information
We share information with service providers that host our website and handle our email, who process it on our behalf. We may also disclose information when the law or legal process requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of Polimati, our users or others, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business.
Retention and security
We keep the information we receive for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as the law requires. We use reasonable measures to protect it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children
Halves is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the age set by local law. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to, or a copy of, the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. To make a request, write to the address below. We may need to verify your identity, and we respond within the time the law requires.
Polimati does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in California law. polimati.com does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
International transfers
Polimati is based in the United States. Information we receive is processed there and in the other countries where our service providers operate. Where the law requires it, we rely on a recognised transfer mechanism.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. A later version of Halves may handle information differently, and this policy will be updated to describe it. Where the law allows, continuing to use Halves after a change means you accept the updated policy.
