The fold is part of the game: Halves reads the hinge, so the game starts the moment the phone is in position.
Flat
The fold is the midline.
Lay the phone on the table between you. Each player faces their own half, and the far side turns around to face them. The puck, the pieces and the dice cross the hinge.
Seated
The raised half keeps a secret.
Stand the phone up like a laptop. The secret word, key or target shows only on the half one player can see. The flat half is the table you share.
The pass
Close the phone to hand over the turn.
Closing it clears the secret. The outside tells the next player it's their go. Close, pass, open. No peeking, no "don't look", no second phone.
