CrayonTales
Tonight's idea.
Tomorrow's coloring book.
Type what your child is into right now. CrayonTales writes a short story and draws it as a coloring book: print it on the printer at home, or color it on screen with a finger or Apple Pencil. Their name goes on the cover.
For iPhone and iPad. Your first pages are free.

Your idea.
Their book.
A dinosaur who bakes. A robot at the beach. The cat next door. Say it in a few words and approve the story before a single page is drawn.
Write
The story comes first.
Type the idea, name the character and say what they look like, pick a reading level and how many pages. CrayonTales writes the story and shows it to you page by page. Change a sentence, or start over, before anything is drawn.

Draw
Pages drawn for crayons.
Each page draws in while you watch: bold black lines, white space to fill, one sentence underneath. The character looks the same on every page, and the cover carries your child's name.

Not right?
Redraw a page, or change its words.
Any page can be drawn again or given a new sentence. The rest of the book stays as it is.
A parent's app
The coloring screen is the only part made for small hands: no typing, no links, nothing to delete.
Print it.
Or color it right here.
One book, two ways. Coloring on screen never changes the page you print.

Then a monthly plan for more pages.
Your first pages are free, so the first book costs nothing. CrayonTales Plus is a monthly subscription that adds a fresh set of pages every month. It belongs to your account, so it follows you to your family's other devices, and you can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple Account settings.
AirPrint or PDF
Print straight from the app, or save the book as a PDF for any printer.
Finger or Apple Pencil
Coloring is saved as you go and survives a restart. The printable page stays clean.
Books live on the device you made them on. Share Book sends one as a file to another iPhone or iPad, where it opens in CrayonTales.
